Yasmine Deroui is een Italiaans Marokkaanse theatermaakster en dramaturg die in Brussel woont. Ze behaalde een Master in Theaterwetenschappen aan de Sorbonne Nouvelle (Parijs) en werkte lange tijd als dansdramaturg in Leipzig voor het dans- en performancecollectief j.a.s. met wie ze onderzoekt hoe ze dekoloniserende praktijken en de complexiteit van
diasporische realiteiten zichtbaarder kan maken in dans.
Sinds 2021 volgt ze een artistiek programma aan de Toneelacademie Maastricht en ontwikkelt ze haar eigen onderzoek. Onderwerpen die Yasmine's performance en dramaturgische praktijk doorkruisen zijn auto-theorie, ethisch documentaire maken, kwetsbaarheid en intimiteit op het podium.

Yasmine Deroui is an Italian Moroccan theatre maker and dramaturg based in Brussels. She obtained a Master in Theatre Studies at Sorbonne Nouvelle (Paris) and spent long periods working as a dance dramaturg in Leipzig for the dance and performance collective j.a.s. with whom she researches how to make decolonizing practices and the complexity of diasporic
realities more visible in dance.
Since 2021 she is completing an artistic program at the Toneelacademie Maastricht and developing her own research. Topics that traverse Yasmine’s performance and dramaturgical practice are auto-theory, ethical documentary making, vulnerability and intimacy on stage.
