Ana Vilela da Costa (Lissabon), actrice en kunstenaar. Met een BA in Antropologie (Universiteit van Lissabon), een MA in Performance Art (Polytechnisch Instituut van Lissabon), een MA in Theater (DAS Theatre - AHK) en een Advanced Training Course in Film Directing (Gulbenkian/School of Arts), kan haar persoonlijk werk worden omschreven als een
multidisciplinaire praktijk waarin performatieve kunst en video-installatie met elkaar verweven zijn. Ze houdt zich bezig met thema's als Feminist Sci-Fi, posthumane en fictieve speculatie met een interesse in de grenzen en drempels waar realiteit en fictie elkaar ontmoeten.
Als acteur werkt ze in film, tv en theater. Onlangs regisseerde ze haar eerste korte film Gardunha - een landelijke sciencefictionfilm die het pad volgt van een vrouw op de vlucht.

With a BA in Anthropology (Univ. of Lisbon), an MA in Performance Art (Lisbon Polytechnic Institute), an MA in Theatre (DAS Theatre – AHK) and an Advanced Training Course in Film Directing (Gulbenkian/School of Arts), her personal work could be described as a multidisciplinary practice intertwining performative arts and video installation dealing with themes such as Feminist Sci-Fi, post-human and fictional speculation with an interest in the boundaries and thresholds where reality and fiction meet.
As an actor, she works in Cinema, TV and Theatre. She recently directed her first short film Gardunha - a rural sci-fi that follows the path of a woman on the run.
