Line Mertens is schrijver en performer. Ze studeerde af als docent en regisseur aan de Toneelacademie Maastricht, waar ze nu de masteropleiding volgt. Schrijven, spelen en onderzoeken zijn in haar praktijk onlosmakelijk verbonden. Terugkerende thema’s zijn verzet tegen huiselijkheid en verbinding met het erfgoed van vrouwen. Momenteel werkt ze aan vijf speeches voor performance en YouTube onder de werktitel: Afbraakwerk / Tiny Demolitions: Een niet-cynische benadering van het omgaan met
de erfenis van moeder. Daarnaast werkt ze nauw samen met Enrica Camporesi sinds 2021, en maakt ze deel uit van het collectief rond Donja Hota, een nieuwe voorstelling van Enkidu Khaled (productie 0090).

Line Mertens is a writer and performer. She graduated as a teacher and director at the Maastricht Theater Academy, where she is now following her master's degree. Writing, playing and research are inextricably linked in her practice. Recurring themes are resistance to domesticity and connection with women's heritage. She is currently working on five speeches for performance and YouTube under the working title: Demolition work / Tiny Demolitions: A non-cynical approach to dealing with
mother's inheritance. In addition, she has been working closely with Enrica Camporesi since 2021, and is part of the collective around Donja Hota, a new performance by Enkidu Khaled (production 0090).
