Het Schuilatelier is coming to de Brakke Grond’s garden. With this installation, artist Salomé Mooij builds and investigates in intimate meetings with visitors what can constitute a shelter. Where can you feel safe and have a sense of being temporarily free from all obligations? Where does the hum of our busy lives fall away, and where can we make contact with other realities? Where does an interior world momentarily coexist with an exterior one?
Salomé Mooij invites you to an exceptional one-on-one conversation lasting half an hour. The process of questions, answers and discovery in the studio is translated into a model. During the conversation, you build a miniature using everyday and found objects to mould your own personal tiny place of shelter.
The model can then be added to the collection of shelters. Together with the other structures, this forms a nomadic collection that will be on display in de Brakke Grond all weekend.
