Anne Breure is in 2011 afgestudeerd aan de Academie voor Dans en Theater als maker en performer. Tijdens haar studietijd werd ze politiek actief en was zij onder meer voorzitter van de Jonge Democraten Amsterdam. Ze werkte nadien in Brussel in het Europees Parlement en daarna voor een trans-Atlantische denktank. Ze behaalde vervolgens haar MA Art and Politics aan Goldsmiths University in London, waar ze tevens de multidisciplinaire galerie Flat34 opzette. In 2014 werd ze directeur van Veem Huis voor Performance in Amsterdam. Ze initieerde in die tijd de Fair Practice Code en transformeerde het theater in 2017 na de subsidie-uitslagen op basis van de Fair Practice Code naar het ‘100 dagen huis’. Ze is sinds juni 2022 samen met Jeroen Bartelse (directeur TivoliVredenburg) voorzitter van Kunsten ’92, de belangenorganisatie van de culturele en creatieve sector. Sinds november 2022 is Breure creatief directeur van het stadsgezelschap Theater Utrecht.

Anne Breure graduated as a maker and performer from the Academy of Theatre and Dance in 2011. During her studies, she became politically active, including chairing the youth political organisation Jonge Democraten Amsterdam (Young Democrats Amsterdam). She subsequently worked in the European Parliament in Brussels and then for a Transatlantic thinktank. She then obtained her MA in Art and Politics from Goldsmiths, University of London, where she also set up the multi-disciplinary gallery Flat34. In 2014, she became director of international theatre and production house Veem Huis voor Performance in Amsterdam. At that time, she initiated the Fair Practice Code and in 2017 transformed the theatre, following subsidy outcomes, on the basis of the Fair Practice Code, into the ‘100 dagen huis’ (‘100 days house’). Since June 2022, alongside Jeroen Bartelse (director of music centre TivoliVredenburg) she has chaired Kunsten ’92, the sector organisation for the cultural and creative sector. Since November 2022, Breure has been the artistic director of the city theatre company Theater Utrecht.
