For this special edition of Makers* Monday, we cross the border and move to Antwerp! Are you a maker based in Flanders or Brussels and do you have questions about crossing over to the Dutch arts field? Would you like to expand your network across the border, or are you curious to know if and where your work can be presented and/or developed in the Netherlands?
Then this edition of Makers* Monday in collaboration with detheatermaker is perfect for you!
In an informal session of two hours we will discuss a variety of topics, such as:
→ relevant funds and grant opportunities
→ venues focused on the development and presentation of artistic practices, that are based in the Netherlands
→ differences and similarities between the Flemish and Dutch arts fields
→ and other practical and substantive aspects of working across borders.
Present at the discussion will be Kim Snauwaert (Festival Cement), Robin Laurens (de Brakke Grond), Lotte Vrancken (detheatermaker) and Matilda Rasquin (detheatermaker).
→ Festival Cement works to provide a platform for the work of a new generation of performing artists from Flanders and the Netherlands in Den Bosch.
→ de Brakke Grond works with makers (artists active in visual arts, music, theater, dance, and transdisciplinary art forms) whose working practices are based in Flanders and Brussels. The house is based in Amsterdam and supports makers in building lasting ties with the Netherlands.
→ detheatermaker is a nomadic development and production platform for new makers taking their first steps in the professional performing arts field. Customization, dialogue and care are always central in the way detheatermaker works with makers.
Anyone working in performing arts is welcome. Depending on your needs, the spoken language is Dutch and/or English. Participation is free!
