Visual performance about how certain events have a lifelong effect on your life. Stefanie Claes' grandmother Aline Vervoort spent a year in the German concentration camp Ravensbrück. That year marked her entire life, and that of her daughter and granddaughters.
Together with Mia Kermis, Stefanie developed a special theatrical language: small, artisanal, personal and expressive. She utilizes this way of storytelling to share the story of Aline, and its echo through generations. Ravensbrück is a wordless and visual performance for adults and (their) children aged 10 and up, for a limited audience. More than about the literal meaning of a war trauma, Ravensbrück is about how certain events have a lifelong effect in and on your life. Three generations of women take center stage, because everyone is a child of someone.
