Vibrations from a traditional Eastern davul drum. We see salt dancing on the drum’s skin, shaped by the frequency of the sound waves. Drawings appear in the salt. Everything is vibration, and all vibrations are interlinked. If we could observe everything and everyone we live with at the level of frequency, would this change how we relate to the world? DAVUL brings various forms of language together, from dance to physical sculpture, from wordless sound to code languages such as morse. The audience vibrates along in this ecosystem of sound and movement, centred on the fundamental interconnectedness of man and his environment.

Onderdeel van Beyond the Black Box.
Er komen trillingen uit een traditionele Oosterse davul-trommel. We zien zout dansen op het trommelvlies, geleid door de frequentie van de geluidsgolf. Er vormen zich tekeningen in het zout. Alles bestaat uit trillingen die met elkaar in verbinding staan. Als we alles en iedereen waarmee we samenleven zouden kunnen waarnemen op frequentieniveau, zouden we dan anders in de wereld staan? In DAVUL komen verschillende vormen van taal samen, van dans tot fysieke sculpturen, van woordeloze klanken tot codetalen als morse. Het publiek trilt mee in dit ecosysteem van klank en beweging, waarin de fundamentele verbondenheid van de mens en zijn omgeving centraal staat.
