Resistance! That is the theme of the fifth edition of the Oorzaken Festival. For two days, Flemish Culture House de Brakke Grond will transform into the epicenter for all different forms of audio.
FOR THE MAKER
On Friday December 12th, the program is packed with masterclasses, listening sessions, workshops, performances, and immersive installations, featuring experienced audio creators such as Nancy Updike from This American Life, short-form expert Talia Augustidis, and community-building podcaster Jesse Lawson. Ask your questions to the experts, join an audio walk by Naomi Steijger through the Red Light District, attend a theater performance by Marte Boneschansker, and discover everything happening right now in the world of narrative audio.
FOR THE LISTENER
On Friday evening (from 19:00) and Saturday (10:30 – 23:30), Oorzaken Festival is fully dedicated to the listener. A full program throughout de Brakke Grond and its surroundings with creators of your favorite podcasts, premieres, immersive audio installations, and intimate listening shows. A selection from the program: Nancy Updike looks back on 30 years of This American Life in conversation with Maartje Duin; Parel Radio celebrates its 10th anniversary with a tribute to the radio play; and performance collective URLAND presents a live audio story.
