Hettie Judah is hoofdkunstcriticus voor het Britse dagblad The i, levert regelmatig bijdragen aan de kunstpagina's van het Britse dagblad The Guardian, en is columnist voor het tijdschrift Apollo. Ze schrijft voor Frieze, Art Quarterly, Art Monthly, ArtReview en andere publicaties met 'kunst' in de titel. Na de publicatie van haar onderzoek uit 2020 naar de impact van het moederschap op de carrières van kunstenaars, werkte ze in 2021 samen met een groep kunstenaars aan het opstellen van het manifest How Not To Exclude Artist Parents, dat nu in 16 talen beschikbaar is. In 2022 was Hettie samen met Jo Harrison medeoprichter van The Art Working Parents Alliance – een ondersteunend netwerk en campagnegroep voor curatoren, academici, galeristen, technici, docenten en anderen die in de kunst werkzaam zijn.

Ze praat regelmatig over kunst en met kunstenaars op hogescholen, maar ook tijdens museum- en galerie-evenementen. Als voorstander van Arts Emergency heeft ze kunstenaars en studenten begeleid via verschillende programma's. Regelmatig is ze te horen (en soms te zien) in programma’s van onder meer Front Row van BBC Radio 4. Recente boeken zijn onder meer How Not To Exclude Artist Mothers (and Other Parents) (Lund Humphries, 2022) en Lapidarium: The Secret Lives of Stones (John Murray, Londen, 2022/ Penguin, NY, 2023).

Hettie is curator van de Hayward Gallery Touring tentoonstelling Acts of Creation: On Art and Motherhood, die op 9 maart 2024 in de Arnolfini in Bristol wordt geopend. Haar gelijknamige boek zal in Europa worden uitgegeven door Thames & Hudson (juli 2024) en de VS (september 2024).

In 2022, together with Jo Harrison, Hettie co-founded the Art Working Parents Alliance - a supportive network and campaigning group for curators, academics, gallerists, technicians, educators and others working in the arts.

She regularly talks about art and with artists for colleges, as well as museum and gallery events. A supporter of Arts Emergency she has mentored artists and students through a variety of different schemes. As a broadcaster she can be heard (and sometimes seen) on programmes including BBC Radio 4’s Front Row. Hettie is curator of the Hayward Gallery Touring exhibition Acts of Creation: On Art and Motherhood which will open at the Arnolfini in Bristol on 9 March 2024. Her book of the same title will be published by Thames & Hudson in Europe (July 2024) and the US (September 2024).
