Dear audience,
BANKET is back! We’re kicking off the season with a festive preview of what’s in store for this new cultural season here at de Brakke Grond. Don’t expect an extravagant, roayal banquet, but rather an edgy evening full of messiness and sweetness, featuring visual art, live performance, music, a behind-the-scenes look, and of course, snacks and drinks.
Our main dish is the opening of Wayward Sanctuaries with speeches, performances, and guided tours. Wayward Sanctuaries is a group exhibition by The Constant Now in which fifteen artists explore new ways to create a home. Visit the open studio of Hannah Zaouad, who is in residence during BANKET and will be working on their new theatre performance Hoe zeg je "kom terug"? The Grote zaal will be taken over by Back2SoilBasics, who will introduce the audience to their work based on food and urban permaculture. And for dessert, the evening will conclude festively with a music and performance programme in the Rode zaal, curated by artists featured in the exhibition Wayward Sanctuaries.
