Every voice counts - soft or loud, hoarse or clear, however it sounds.
With ZING ONTBIJT, the King Sisters invite you to an unconventional musical start of the day. As the world wakes up, oranges are juiced, and breakfast is set, we warm up our voices and gather the courage to begin the day.
At ZING ONTBIJT, every voice matters, however it sounds. Quiet or loud, hoarse or clear, modest or powerful. Together we intertwine, whether through passing the butter or by singing a note. Through this theatrical concert, the King Sisters awaken an ancient drive for community, cohesion, and harmony. Playful and joyful, it becomes clear that we not only influence each other, but are also dependent on one another - a truth often forgotten in times of individualism and polarization. Together, we form the pieces of an unimaginably vast system.
Sisters Joske (actress), Annelie (vocalist), and Marthe Koning (physical performer) form the collective King Sisters. Using their voices as a starting point, they create artistic, unconventional musical performances. For ZING ONTBIJT, the sisters collaborate with multi-instrumentalist Wessel Schrik and director and participation specialist Emke Idema.
